Commitment to Sustainability
At Rhum Biologique, we are 100% committed to sustainable, eco-friendly practices—rums for the ages that coexist in harmony with the island's native flora and fauna.
First and foremost, we build our flavors on invasive species that disrupt the delicate ecosystem on St. Martin: the Green Iguana, Guppy, Vietnamese Giant Centipede and more. Ever since the arrival of man, native species have struggled to survive amidst the onslaught of introduced competitors and predators. By ethically harvesting these species, Rhum Biologique helps tip the ecological balance in favor of native species, many of which are found nowhere else in the world.
As we grow, we will continue to source flavor species from the long roster of introduced and invasive animals, from the Giant African Land Snail and Cuban Treefrog to the Mongoose and Vervet Monkey. Our commitment to the delicate and unique natural heritage of the island is as important to us as our commitment to the delicate and unique rums we are producing.
